WenZhu's project looks to take an existing housing block in Shanghai built over 50 years ago, and reimagine it to be more sustainable moving forward with on-site food growth and clean energy production.

Section looking at the new facade applied to the existing structure creates opportunities for flexible spaces, as well as highlights communal spaces in the courtyards.

Small scale gathering spaces such as coffee shops and tea houses will be introduced into the courtyard areas to provide residents with areas to relax and connect.
