Using a combination of embedded videos and augmented reality codes, the recently published print and electronic book Naturally Animated Architecture demonstrates how the movements of the sun, wind and rain can be used to both improve the well-being of building occupants and increase public awareness of underused passive energy and rainwater-saving techniques. This work was supported by a research fellowship at the University of Tokyo from the Japan Society for the Advancement of Science. The electronic edition of Naturally Animated received the 2018 Digital Book World award for architecture and a 2019 eLit gold medal.
