As a founding principal of Arquitectonica, Ms. Spear has been active in the firm since its inception. In this capacity, she has participated in the design of nearly every project undertaken by the firm. Her projects include residences, low-income housing, luxury condominiums,office towers, corporate headquarters, retail centers and hotels, institutional and government buildings.

Ms. Spear recently started a new division of Arquitectonica, surnamed Arquitectonica Geo. Arquitectonica Geo is a landscape architecture firm, focused on environmentally sensitive design. The firm explores the complex challenges of contemporary built and natural environments, developing design solutions that balance a modern aesthetic with environmental c oncerns to create an aesthetic and sustainable landscape.

Laurinda is also known for her signature company Laurinda Spear Products, well known for many product designs including furniture, watches and clocks, neckties, housewares, door hardware, laminates, carpeting, textiles and street furniture such as bus stop shelters, benches and signage. ARQ Studio is the design studio integrating landscape architecture, interiors, graphics and products.

Many of Ms. Spear’s projects have been featured in numerous books as well as prominent magazines and professional journals such as Time, Newsweek, Business Week, Esquire, Life, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Architecture, Architectural Digest, Architectural Record, Art in America, Blueprint, Casas, Domus, GA Document, Global Architecture, Häuser, Progressive Architecture and World Architecture among others.

Ms. Spear’s designs have won several American Institute of Architects and Progressive Architecture design awards. Ms. Spear is involved in numerous community initiatives and has dedicated herself wholly to the pursuit and education of others in regards to design excellence.

Ms. Spear has lectured around the world and her work has been exhibited in numerous prominent museums throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
