ExperienceA lecturer at the School since 1992 and a member of the College of Fellows of the AIA, Carol Sakata has been active in the development of the School’s professional practice curriculum and was awarded fellowships to two AIA/ACSA Design/Professional Practice Summer Institutes. She has also conducted production techniques seminars for architects and engineers at UH and the University of Wisconsin, and was a principal contributor to two editions of Guide to Production Procedures published by AIA Hawai‘i State Council and AIA/Honolulu Chapter. Carol Sakata is senior principal of CDS International, a Honolulu-based award-winning architectural firm. Professional activities have included Member, Hawaii Board of Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects; Chair, NCARB Architect Registration Examination (ARE) Committee; Chair, City and County of Honolulu Building Board of Appeals; Chair, National AIA International Markets & Practice and Women in Architecture committees; President, Treasurer and Director of the Hawaii Society/AIA (now AIA Honolulu).
