As the renaissance of Asia Pacific cultures matures with high
technology, rich and unique opportunities emerge. In this
session we will explore past, present and future housing and
community archetypes, new paradigms for livability, and local
responses to issues arising from the importation of global
ideas. How can the historical underlay play a role in shaping
a modern future? What can densifying western cities learn
from Asia Pacific about mitigating crowding and density through
design? What can Asia Pacific learn from the west about the
values that come from conservation of historic resources?
And vice versa…
Papers are invited for past, present, future housing and
community archetypes, the new urban sprawl in Asia, measuring
livability in different cultures, crowding mitigation, and
historical underlays. |
