Award of Distinction and Award of Merit

At the end of the academic year, top DArch projects are nominated for consideration to receive the distinguished Award of Distinction and Award of Merit supported by the Hawai‘i Architectural Foundation. Doctoral candidates present their research project dissertations at the graduate Final DArch Presentation event in front of HAF representative judges, and an audience of family, friends, and colleagues. Doctoral projects are judged on architectural design research excellence that advances disciplinary knowledge. The selected commendable research projects are announced and recipients are honored with generous monetary awards at a special year-end School of Architecture Commencement event.
