My goal is to focus students on the vital importance of architectural design in promoting the well-being and quality of life for a healthy population. With my broad background, the intention is to bring students out beyond their academic realm and introduce them to the expansive area of public health with an emphasis on the importance of multidisciplinary integration. My lifelong dedicated career and passion have been that of an Endodontist (with over 40 years of experience in healthcare and clinical dentistry) while honorably serving on active duty in the US Navy for 30 years. I am very proud to be a “plank owner” of the first MLA class to graduate from our UH School of Architecture Ohana (2021)!

I am very thankful to have the special opportunity to teach this well-received course ” ARCH 682/PLAN 682 Building Well-Being: Health and the Built Environment” for the past five years ; exposing many grateful students to hands-on activities, practical assignments, adjunct guest speakers and various field trips.
