Team members Moises Loi Can, Zaw Latt, Yaning Zhang, and Ming Xu were honored with the 1st Place award in the 2021 Steel Design Student Competition, Category I Workplace Wellness. The project design, “Immersive Workplace,” envisions a future for healthy collaborative spaces that integrate the unique culture and demanding work environment in South Korea.
Team members Ge Tian, Doug Cao, Zhiyu Feng, and Dongyan Jian, were awarded an Honorable Mention for the Category I: Workplace Wellness, for their “Floating Oasis” design project. This design encourages many levels of communication and collaboration, while maintaining healthy and receptive spaces for Shanghai’s workforce and neighbors within the city’s urban center.
Both teams were under the guidance of Professor Clark Llewellyn, FAIA, and Global Track Advisory Board members Marion Fowlkes, FAIA and Stephen Huh, FAIA. Both project designs will be exhibited at the ACSA 110th Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, CA, in Spring 2022.
Sponsors of this competition are the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA), an international association of architecture schools offering accredited professional degree programs, and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), a non-for-profit technical institute and trade association.
