Black Lives Matter
I am sure that we all share feelings of sadness and indignation over the death of George Floyd, as well as many other victimized African Americans in both the distant and recent past. I feel it is important that the School of Architecture stand in solidarity with our friends, neighbors, colleagues, and their allies who are raising their voices against the violence and discrimination that arises from ongoing racial prejudice in our country. We condemn racism and police brutality and call for an end to the increasingly militarized character of our community policing. As the interim dean of a school with a commitment to improving the lives of everyone, I would like to reiterate that Black Lives [Indeed] Matter and that the school continues its commitment to teaching, research, advocacy, and activism to fight discrimination.
