Joseph Kim, BEnvD graduate of Fall 2016, along with his colleagues from Design Partners Incorporated utilized their 3D printer to make face shields for local hospitals in need of Personal Protection Equipment.

One hundred face shields were delivered to Queen’s Medical Center West Oahu on April 13, 2020, just in time as the QMCWO’s remaining one-week supply was about to run out.  The healthcare worker was amazed with the face shield design and fit, and overwhelmed with the timely donation. Design Partners Inc.continues production to fulfill another needed supply at Tripler Hospital and Kapiolani Medical Center in the upcoming days.
