Student Scholarship to Attend 2019 Build and Buy Green Conference

Hawaii Build + Buy Green (BBG) ‘19, is an annual event with site visits featuring clean energy and green building sites in the State of Hawai‘i.

UH School of Architecture student Olga Douglas received a scholarship to travel and attend the event on Kaua‘i, HI. Faculty member Wendy Meguro hosted the keynote speaker, Mary Ann Lazarus, in her role on the USGBC Hawai‘i Market Leadership Advisory Board.

The event is in partnership with the US Green Building Council Hawaii, Hawai‘i State Energy Office, AIA Honolulu, KIUC, Kaua‘i County, KSBE, Renew Rebuild Hawai‘i, and other organizations and businesses.

  • Tours to Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative Solar Tesla and Algae Sites, Kaniko‘o Senior Housing I & II (LEED Platinum), National Tropical Botanical Garden Laboratory (LEED Gold), Kolopua Workforce Housing (LEED Platinum), and Limahuli Garden Preserve.
  • Inspirational keynote by Mary Ann Lazarus, FAIA, LEED Fellow on Resilient Design in a Transformative Age.
