The AIA Student Design Awards jury selected Kaimana Tuazon’s Arch 201 studio project for an Award of Excellence. The Arch 201 studio was developed in collaboration with the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transit (HART) and run in parallel to a senior special project course taught by Professor Roger Babcock in the Civil Engineering department. Kaimana’s project for a Kualaka’i pedestrian bridge, entry lanai, and transit hub was recognized for its conceptual clarity, strong forms, hierarchy, and clear presentation of ideas.
